Corpus Christi College, situated in the heart of the city, combines ancient buildings with modern facilities.
The accommodation we have available is used by our students during term time and is pleasant, simple and clean. Each bedroom has a wash hand basin and you will be provided with a towel and soap. Bathrooms are shared unless you are in ensuite rooms. Your bedroom will be routinely cleaned by our Housekeeping staff, beds are not cleaned at weekends. We offer tea & coffee making facilities in kitchens which are located close to each bedroom. During the Christmas & Easter holidays students may leave some of their belongings in their bedrooms.
Bedrooms within the grounds of the College are those at New Court and Taylor Court; we also have bedrooms situated just out of the main gate which is Botolph Court and Benet Street. Ensuite accommodation is a 1 minute walk from the main gate and we also have enclosed court accommodation a 2 minute walk away in the Beldam Building. Bedrooms located on the Benet Passage (en-suite double & single) are suitable for 2 guests, one couple or small family.
Accommodation outside the College is cheaper in price due to its location and the fact that it is noisier.
We very much look forward to welcoming you!
History to the present day
The College is unique among colleges in Oxford and Cambridge in having been formed, not by royalty or other distinguished persons, but by two local guilds, the Guild of Corpus Christi and the Guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Old Court, a rare medieval architectural gem and the oldest surviving enclosed court in Cambridge, dates from the foundation of the College in 1352.
The 19th century Neo-Gothic New Court provides the four traditional essentials of a college - a Chapel, a Library, a Hall and a Lodge for the Master. Famous Students who have attended Corpus Christi include the playwrights Christopher Marlowe and John Fletcher.
Fascinating fact: Long-nosed inquisitive Corpus Master Matthew Parker of 1544 was the original "Nosey Parker!!"
The Porter's Lodge offers a variety of books on the history of Corpus, postcards and other souvenirs.
Dining and drinking
Breakfast is included in the price and you will dine in the Hall each morning. Breakfast is served Monday to Sunday from 0830 to 0915.
Tea & Coffee-making facilities are located in the kitchens located close to each bedroom. Please make yourself familiar with their location & the bathrooms on arrival.

Sabine Stark, August 2010: Actually the receptionists were very friendly and willingly helpful! Could you please transfer this compliment to them?
All of these items made my stay a memorable one in Cambridge. Thank you!
Sabine xx
Ron Swanwick, March 2010: Can't remember room number. The room and facilities were good. We were there for a wedding just before Christmas and the general level of friendliness, assistance and service were....good!! An enjoyable experience.
Francoise Stavrou, February 2010: Will definetely come back
Peter Newlands, February 2010: outstanding value
Fraser Easton, August 2009: The porters provided an excellent service and were very helpful and accommodating in providing advice, directions and assisting in looking after luggage prior to access to the rooms.
peter taylor, August 2009: We stayed in Corpus Christi (Newnham House) for one night and Garden Court at Sydney Sussex for the second night. A really excellent experience - more interesting and friendlier than many a 4 star hotel. Porters delightful and helpful. The rooms basic but clean and very comfortable. Breakfast in the wonderful halls a unique experience and both beautiful freshly cooked food. Altogether I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
Brian Johnston, August 2009: Although I was only in the room for a short period having been out late on a stag night I thought the room was excellent value for money and the general level of accommodation was very good. I would certainly recommend the facilities to friends considering a visit to Cambridge.
Mr M D Booker, July 2009: Efficient, clean, tidy, cheap and cheerful and centrally located!
Julie Summerfield, July 2009: I really enjoyed my stay in such a stunningly beautiful central location . For a few days I relived my student days, if only they had been at Cambridge.
Nick Jakeman, July 2009: It is always lovely to be back! The rooms were spotlessly clean and Botolph Court is quite delightful.
Jan Thompson, July 2009: Really appreciated the location, the hall for breakfast was stunning and porter friendly and helpful.
Martin Raymond, April 2009: I had a fabulous time at Corpus Christi (Newnham Ho). It was so much more of an experience than staying in a hotel. It gave a real sense of the Cambridge experience. I pick out the fantasticaly friendly and helpful Porter at CC for special mention and the dining in the hall was amazing.
Carol Lloyd, October 2008: Had a wonderful stay; college porters were helpful & courteous...rooms were great, whole experience excellent. Would recommend a stay to other friends visiting Cambridge. Thank you!!

Gillian Konrad, August 2008: Newnham House - very good accom, quiet and clean enough - good value for money
Urvesh Shelat, August 2008: Choosing this accomodation was the best decision I made for my trip to Cambridge! Corpus Christi was beautiful, the porters were very helpful, and the price was much better than any other option (except for the Youth Hostel, which is not for everyone).
Katja Hilska, August 2008: Very nice atmosphere, beautiful room and nice staff! I absolutely recommend!
Michael Raiger, August 2008: Porters were friendly and very helpful---they made my visit a very enjoyable one. They deserve a gold medal! Room was good. This is a wonderful service you provide to visitor. Thanks so much!
M. Cristina Figueredo, August 2008: You deliver what you offer in your website. The view from my window was enchanting. However, I would suggest that you should provide a bathmat for each of your guests, instead of one per bathroom.
David Cross, July 2008: Very convivial surroundings; a good room, lovely buildings, and (helpfully) access to a nearby kitchen area. And of course a super breakfast. Thank you (again) for another good stay.
Hannah Rimmer, July 2008: Hello,
We had a variety of rooms at Newnham House and the Beldham building. The porters lodge were fantastic and helped out with directions etc constantly. The overall experience was very, very good and we would come and stay again. Its great being right in the city and getting a complete feeling of university life for Cambridge students.
We only had small issues, one being parking, at Newnham house, there was plently of room and to get keys and then walk back there was a bit of hassle. Secondly, the rooms were very hot, even with windows open. Newnham house, was extremely hot and my guests (I booked everything) complained to me about this, but seeing as it was one night I did not take it further. At Beldham building, the windows would not open, only a small one which wasn't much use.
Overall I would highly recommend as you can get completely immerse yourself in the city and get a real sense of uni life and the experiences which come with it. Not only that but its great value.
Thank you!
