St Catharine's is a vibrant and successful community of scholars who are delighted to welcome visitors to our city and College.

All the rooms we provide are used during term time by our undergraduate students. They are therefore not equipped to four star hotel standard (we do not for instance have trouser presses or TVs in rooms). We can however guarantee clean and comfortable rooms with tea/coffee making facilities; towels and toiletries; radio alarm clocks; and complimentary high speed internet access.

Please note that all our en-suite, twin and standard rooms are located in different parts of the building, therefore if you are booking more than one type of room, they are unlikely to be very close to each other. It would be helpful if you could specify which names would prefer which type of room.

History to the present day

St Catharine's, or "Catz" as the College is known, was founded in 1473, by Robert Woodlark. He chose a small site next to Kings and a close relationship with that college has been maintained. Originally a small college, it gradually acquired buildings around and was largely rebuilt in the 17th century, with work starting on the Main Court in 1673 and the Chapel being completed in 1704.

Copies of the College history and postcards are available from the Porters' Lodge.

Food and Drinks

A hearty traditional English breakfast is served in the College's Great Hall, from 7.45am-9am each day.  On Saturday and Sunday breakfast is extended until 0930.

Guests are very welcome to use the fully licensed College bar.

Other facilities

Internet access is available via ethernet and cables are supplied in each bedroom at no additional charge. Extra cables can be obtained from the Porters' Lodge if required.

A television room is available for those visiting the College.

The College staff were friendly and helpful and the double room was well-proportioned, clean and neat, providing great value for money. I would heartily recommend to anyone looking for atmospheric accommodation in the heart of the city with easy access to all the main attractions. Thank you for an enjoyable and educational stay.

, September 2011: It's not a luxurious b&b option but couldn't have been more perfect, I shared a 3 twin room flat with some old friends, located in the centre of Cambridge near the river, the staff at St. Catherine's were wonderful and I felt priviledged to stay in the University, the old boys dinner on Saturday night added to the atmosphere as they all arrived at the college.

, September 2011: This was a very nice experience. They had tea making facilities in the room and the shower was very good! I had two windows that opened. Also a branded St Catherine dop kit with shampoo and a washcloth and soap supplied- better than some hotels I have stayed in!! I will be back!

, September 2011: Very friendly helpful staff. Great location. A very enjoyable stay.

, September 2011: The room was a lovely Cambridge College study bedroom, full of character with table, desk, internet connection. There is a sink in the room, a shower room and toilet on the landing (one between 5 or 6 rooms) also a bathtub on the same staircase. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard canteen fare.

, September 2011: We all 3 enjoyed our stay at St. Catherines College Cambridge and would use these facilities again in the future.

, September 2011: Very impressed with our visit to St Catherine's College. Especially appreciated the friendliness of the porters who showed us to our room and stored our luggage for a few hours while we walked around Cambridge. Great that the college offers twin/double rooms, as not many do.

, September 2011: I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this college.

, September 2011: Thank you so much for a pleasant visit - the porters and staff were so friendly and we felt very taken care of :)

, September 2011: Very friendly and helpful staff - thank you!

, August 2011: I´ve enjoyed staying in this special historical building. I like this college. If I had been younger, I´d have studied there. All people have been very friendly and Cambridge is a great place in the world. I think I´ll come back anytime and I´ll looking for an accomodation in an old college.

, August 2011: It is not a hotel, it is an experience and it is worth it.

, August 2011: A fabulous experience which I will certainly recommend to others! Location right in the city center and very friendly staff.

, August 2011: I had a thoroughly enjoyable time at St Catharine's. It is a fantastic location and provided everything I needed for a great experience. I would definitely consider it again if I need to stay in Cambridge. I would also recommend it to my friends.

, August 2011: Very efficient way of booking accommodation. All went as planned. No problems encountered. Couldn't be better. Many thanks.

, August 2011: Comfortable room with fantastic view of courtyard. Porters were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than I have ever had, even in a top class hotel. Will definitely come again, highly recommended.

, August 2011: It is clean and well located. Beautiful place!

, August 2011: A new and very enjoyable experience

, August 2011: Never visited Cambridge before, went as our son has an interest in attending the University in a couple of years time. Loved our whole experience from start to finish. Will definitely be coming back and hopefully Daniel will attend in a couple of years.

, August 2011: AN excellent experience, right in the heart of cambridge. Would recommend to friends and would use univercity rooms again. Made to feel very special

, August 2011: The porters were very friendly and helpful. The location in the middle of the city center is ideal for exploring all the major colleges and other places of the center.

, August 2011: A good stay - typical Oxbridge room - a bit dated but clean and functional. Brilliant breakfast in impressive surroundings.

, July 2011: A most comfortable stay - and staff most helpful as always.

, July 2011: Straightforward booking and a very satisfactory overnight stay in an excellent location - I will certainly be recommending it to my friends

, July 2011: REALLY GOOD AND NICE, BUFFET BREAKFAST WAS INCLUDED AND HAD VARIOUS RANGE OF FOOD. WILL DEFINITELY BOOK ANOTHER ONE NEXT TIME.

, July 2011: Lovely experience. Everything very well done. Many thanks.

, July 2011: Generally happy with everything. Room 34 was far superior to 22 and very much appreciated the bigger space. Love the location, so close to everything in town. Breakfast was okay, but not enough fruit, toaster takes too long, and the breakfast period is too short ie ends too early. Porter staff very helpful and friendly. Will be back!

, July 2011: Room, housekeeping and service by porter-lodge staff were all excellent, especially considering "value for money." It would have been very helpful to have had access to the kitchen facility located just a few doors down the hall from my room (refrigerator and microwave), as I had to work some part of my time on presentations for the conference in which I was participating and other professional work. The large desk and bookshelves in the room, however, were perfect for that purpose. I hope to come again some day.

, July 2011: Absolutely delightful accommodations, feeling a part of the old city for a reasonable cost. Every time I walked past the Porter's Cottage, I felt like I was taking a trip through time.

, April 2011: congratulations on the whole excellent service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

, April 2011: The room was modern, comfortable and immaculately clean. All facilities you would expect in a standard level hotel room were provided. Full marks.

, April 2011: Thanks to the College for a friendly welcome

, April 2011: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the college. The staff were all really friendly and I felt very at home there. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the toiletries you provided were a really nice surprise - it felt like staying in a good hotel rather than student rooms. The only thing I can think of that might have improved the booking system (which was very easy to use and helpful) would have been clarification over whether the booking was just for room or for bed and breakfast. Obviously I discovered this when I got there, and it made the stay even better value for money, but it might be worth clarifying this at point of booking. All the food I had at the college was excellent and fantastic value for money. Thank you. I would certainly use your accomodation again.

, April 2011: The room was very clean and the booking was very easy to do. In overall the experience was hassle-free. We had a great time.

, April 2011: My daughter was accepted at Cambridge for graduate school; this was an excellent way to get a feel for the place. I would recommend St. Catharine's for the general traveler as well, as it is close to many of the sights--King's College, Fitzwilliam Museum--and close to many lovely walks. The St. C's staff was friendly and helpful, too.

, April 2011: The room was quite small. But it is in a really good place, next to the King's College. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was WiFi and traditional English breakfast. I would recommend it.

, April 2011: Staying in a Cambridge college was a very special experience. Surely, the quality of the room is not 5-star, but it allowed to live Cambridge from a different perspective, that no hotel can offer.

, March 2011: We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was well-equipped and comfortable. The porter was helpful and friendly. We'd definitely stay at St. Catherine's again should we be in Cambridge.

, March 2011: Overall an excellent experience and far nicer than I would have had in a hotel - it simply is not comparable. One is enormously privileged to stay in such a place.

, March 2011: A wonderful way to experience a little of Cambridge. Excellent value for money.

, March 2011: can't wait to come back !

, March 2011: Very nice room and breakfast, friendly staff, good central location.

, March 2011: Excellent stay, thanks!

, March 2011: So enjoyable to stay in a beautiful historic building in the middle of Cambridge, we had a great time! University accommodation means that the rooms are very basic, especially for the price, but overall we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend!

, January 2011: Thanks for all!

, October 2010: Had a lovely stay, we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. The staff were especially helpful and pleasant. Many thanks

, October 2010: Wonderful place to stay.

, October 2010: we had a very nice stay in st catharine's college, especially the breakfast was much better than expected.

, October 2010: Centrally located and fascinating experience. It's not a hotel, but that's the charm.

, October 2010: it is the first time that i have used your service and i have already recommended it to 2 of my friends

, October 2010: A good use of St Catherine's accommodation for us with a three night stay in a double room. We cannot walk far so being central was a main consideration. There was no parking (or it was terribly expensive) so we opted to arrive by train. We live about an hour away in Suffolk and we wanted to do tourist Cambrige; we succeeded well. We ate well at establishments around the centre; we would have liked to have enjoyed a meal in the college (with its presumably medieavil ambience and traditions) but we were too late as the students were arriving for freshers' week. We will recomnmend it to friends. Alastair and Janet Douglas

, October 2010: Will recommend your rooms highly to future visitors. Only small comment that the rooms have poor sound proofing. Perhaps a small TV in room will be also good

, October 2010: What a lovely way to experience Cambridge! Good value for money, really central, and friendly staff.

, October 2010: I particularly valued the free ethernet, which can cost a small fortune in a hotel.

, September 2010: Nice quiet room, convenient location. Some visitors might prefer en suite but it was fine for me.

, September 2010: Would stay at St.Catharine's again, it was lovely, central, historic, and beautiful. Staff were helpful, professional and friendly. Could walk everywhere from college. Would definitely use UniversityRooms.co.uk again, and would recommend it.

, September 2010: Overall a great experience. The college staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly.

, September 2010: Excellent...shall want to book again. The only reason I put 'good' on the rooms section is simply that on the corridor for 8 rooms there was only one loo and one shower . Perfectly understandable though! Thank you.

, September 2010: You won't find a more convenient location in Cambridge than this. Comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities. A good English breakfast. Wonderfully helpful and friendly porters and staff.

, September 2010: We thought we would miss a TV being in the room for news etc. but for such a short stay it was not required. Cooked breakfast was good but could do with being a bit hotter. Overall a good place in a great setting. Will recommend.

, September 2010: The portering staff were very obliging and the location meant that I could travel to my various commitments easily. It suited me well.

, September 2010: Easy access to internet very welcome.

, September 2010: We were gratetful to be able to leave our luggage in the basement prior to the time we were able to check in. Thank you

, September 2010: I booked the rooms for my daughter and her friend and they were thrilled with such a wonderful location and large student rooms

, September 2010: The location was also very good indeed and the staff were very helpful.

, September 2010: Although the stay was enjoyable we found the room was very warm and stuffy and also the heating/air conditioning was noisy. However when we arrived for our visit we were greeted by friendly porters who were very efficient and helpful we also would like to add that the bar staff in the student bar was also friendly and made us welcome. Altogether a nice visit. Would recommend.

, September 2010: Everyone was friendly and eager to please. The location was wonderful - so close to the sights that I wanted to see. I would book there again.

, September 2010: The room was nice and clean

, September 2010: Can't remember rom number. Enjoyed stay - especially as college is located right in the middle of cambridge

, September 2010: I enjoyed my time in this college !

, September 2010: We had a lovely two days in Cambridge. St. Catherines is a good choice for accomodation and would certainly come again. The Porter was very helpfull.

, September 2010: Myfriend and I were very happy with the accommodation, bed-making on Wednesday 15th was minimal but nothing we couldn't live with.

, September 2010: Wonderful - location was brilliant. The porters especially Sebastian was very helpful. Rooms very cosy, clean and well presented. Suggestion is to have more than one hairdryer available - girls always appreciate it.

, September 2010: A very pleasant experience. Helpful staff especially Sebastian

, September 2010: I've had a really nice stay at St. Catherine's. The college was clean and tidy, the room was big and comfortable, and meals, especially breakfast, were absolutely great. I strongly recommend the place to other people visiting Cambridge. I would definitely stay again there if I went back to Cambridge. Nice city and nice college.

, September 2010: Everything was much more comfortable than 50 years ago as a student there!

, September 2010: Very enjoyable. Will certainly do it again

, September 2010: I had a spacious room with an en-suite bathroom, which I didn't expect. I was provided with a kettle and tea bags, which is nice.

, September 2010: Loved the experience. I would definately recommend and would do it again. Location was great.

, September 2010: Straightforward to book and great place to stay!

, September 2010: Our only disappointment was that we were hoping to stay in the older section of the college. The room in which we were placed was most spacious and the bathroom was very large. This was an excellent location within the city.

, September 2010: We really enjoyed the whole experience of being able to stay at St Catharine's College and found everyone to be extremely helpful. Our room was much better than expected. Very comfortable and having an en suite bathroom was a bonus.

, September 2010: Rooms were just what was required. Comfortable and clean with reasonable en-suite.

, September 2010: We had a wonderful weekend here. On arrival the porters were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The situation of the college was perfect. We would recommend the italian restaurant Stazione in the market area and also warn people of leaving their car in the short term carpark for too long - it gets very expensive after a few hours.

, September 2010: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at St Catharine's College. Visiting Cambridge was a highlight of my stay in England. I just loved it.

, September 2010: The room was spacious, comfortable and beautiful, but slightly noisy.

, September 2010: Great! Thanks for everything

, September 2010: The room was lovely (Woodlock staircase). The porter was brisk but helpful. It would have been useful and preferable to have a fridge on the staircase. The tea and coffee facilities were good. The room, toilet and showers were all clean. Overall, a good experience

, September 2010: breakfast was excellent except for the hot water for the tea - not really boiling and metallic tasting from the urn - but this is a quibble - the whole experience was delightful, and in such an evocative location. Certainly recommended.

, September 2010: A very pleasant experience. A comfortable room. Historic surroundings. Friendly staff. Great buffet breakfast. Very good value cafeteria.

, September 2010: The room and the general condition were really very satisfactory. I would only say that the mirror in the bathroom was too small, and the room lacked any mirrors, but it's only a minor inconvenience.

, September 2010: I was pleasantly suprised by the level of cleanliness - particularily the ensuite - I have stayed in many 4/5 star hotels that wouldn't have been as clean. The building was beautiful and the check in check out process was easy. I would to recommend to anyone not planning to spend alot of time in their room, as this was typical basic student accommodation but definitely over-delivered on my expectations.

, September 2010: We were all extremely impressed-especially with the friendly and helpful porter's lodge staff. St Catharine's was excellent value-particularly so in that other colleges do not provide breakfast. We all plan to use this service again-Well Done !

, September 2010: Fantastically central

, September 2010: Absolutely brilliant.I've already told a friend who will be booking with you very soon. Room, facilities and breakfast were all excellent. I really appreciated the breakfast on Sunday. Keep it up!

, September 2010: A very comfortable room, thoughtfully prepared and equipped.

, September 2010: Would certainly book again. Really good central location

, September 2010: The staff were very hospitable and helpful. The room itself was a good size, clean and comfortable with fresh towels and toiletry goody bag laid out and tea/coffee provided. This was a basic room but the shower and toilet were right next door and there was a sink in the room. Choice of hot or cold buffet breakfast - or both! With a complementary copy video about St Catherine's College, excellent value for money and beautiful surroundings to stay in.

, September 2010: Very pleasant visit, staff courteous and helpful at all times I interacted with them. Breakfast wasn't very warm and the tea from the urn not good! I would be happy to return again and to recommend to friends.

, September 2010: I really enjoyed my stay at St. Catharine's college. It's a charming place which offers great facilities (ex: computer room)

, September 2010: We are delighted to have had the opportunity to stay at Saint Catherine's College! Our rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet; staff who greeted us were very kind; and the breakfast hall and food were appealing. A memorable part of our brief visit to your lovely campus.

, September 2010: It was the first time we stayed at the college everything was as you would find in a comparable hotel. would certainley recomend.Ray & Anita.

, September 2010: Greatly enriches your cambridge experience, by staying in the university added by great value for money.

, August 2010: Like the free Internet access, as we used it for necessary info and updates.

, August 2010: I had a lovely staying in your college. The situation is really wonderful and the porters were very helpful, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the college and had a very good time in Cambridge. Thanks a lot!

, August 2010: We really enjoyed our visit, especially due to the friendly and helpful porter!

, August 2010: Excellent location.Avery nice atmosphere .We would suggest having a hand towel in the shower/toilet room. a wonderful stay .

, August 2010: Most enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

, August 2010: The room was too hot. We couldn't open the window at night because there was an air conditioning unit right outside making too much noise. However, apart from this, we loved our stay.

, August 2010: Very pleasant room and ambiance. For those who cre about these matters, it must be said that the rooms in the modern section are not really soundproof so that the sounds of cohabitation with your neighbors must be taken into stride. In the summer the ambiance is generally festive, so party sounds into the night may limit sleeping hours. Otherwise, the stay at St Catharine's was a pure pleasure.

, August 2010: Just wanted to thank you dearly for the overall experience : We have had the best time ever in Cambridge and would love to come back some time soon ... Everything was simply perfect, from the wonderful general welcoming of the college staff, the magnificent breakfast and meals that we appreciated very much, and the perfect location of our rooms. We would certainly highly recommend it, and cannot wait to come back very soon. With best regards, Patricia LEVRAULT, from France

, August 2010: My standard single room turned out to be massive, with wood panelling, several good armchairs and a large desk, all overlooking the main quad. Very satisfactory. Good breakfast too. Booking a normal hotel would be a mistake, with this sort of thing on offer.

, August 2010: Room was fine apart from the bed matress need replacing for a comfortable night sleep.

, August 2010: Since we stayed for a whole week, it would have been helpful if we could have used the microwave in the kitchenettes on the floor. The kitchens were locked and the porters told us we were not allowed to use them. Otherwise, we had a really good time. THe staff was really helpful and kind. We would certainly like to go back, and hope for the same room.

, August 2010: This was much better than staying in some generic B&B and at a reasonable price. As ever, with many multi occupancy buildings there were inevitable door bangs, especially as the doors are fitted with fire hazard shutting mechanisms making them REALLY bang. I did not have the best night's sleep ever but the standard of the room and the experience as a whole outweighed that. I picked St Catherine's as the check out time was slightly later than most of the other colleges, though at 10:00, still rather early.

, August 2010: Enjoyed our stay and the surroundings.

, August 2010: It was a very pleasant stay. It is a pity Caths cannot find an affordable solution for the parking problem for people with cars as Downing, for example, can. Street rowdies outside Caths are a problem at nightbut that is a civic or policing responsibility. Cats itself is very good.

, August 2010: My second stay and if anything I enjoyed it more than my first. Thanks.

, August 2010: After sightseeing all day and enjoying exccellent food, it would have been so nice to have been able to relax in a better "reading/TV" room. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly recommend this holiday to family and friends.

, August 2010: It was nice and cozy experience to stay

, August 2010: Thanks, everything was very good! just I was not sure how/where I should ask for my towels to be changed...Overall, it was a very good experience! Many thanks

, August 2010: I enjoyed my stay will fome again

, August 2010: A very pleasant place, the porters are very helpful and the room was very comfortable. It was a lot better than many hotel/B&B rooms i have stayed at.

, August 2010: very pleased with the standard of service and ease of booking system, please pass on our thanks to all the staff.

, August 2010: Great experience. We wanted the Old England thing, and got it! Overnight parking could be improved by liasing with the Council for an overnight park and ride scheme.

, August 2010: Everyone friendly and very helpful. Will use again.

, August 2010: Excellent stay. I really enjoyed it and it is good value. The only thing that could have been improved would have been the water supply (and hence temperature control) for the shower - although I fully understand this issue. Thanks for your hospitality.

, August 2010: I went to Oxford last year & the overall experience was better this year in terms of standard of accommodation/facilities.

, August 2010: We couldn't believe what a perfect location and what incredible value for money the rooms were! I loved watching the comings and goings on the street below too. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and I have been thoroughly recommending using this facility to anyone who'll listen since!

, August 2010: Excellente solution de séjour, en plein centre historique, plutôt pour des courtes durées

, August 2010: The only problem was the noise from the street at night.

, August 2010: I actually stayed in the very room I had as an undergraduate 42 years ago!

, August 2010: it was super clean, the college is really great and it was wonderful to stay in a real place. Thank you

, August 2010: It's a great experience for me. The room is very clean & neat. The Breakfast is abundant. I would love to recommend the college to everyone who visit cambridge.

, August 2010: We enjoyed our stay very much, the porter was very friendly and the facilities and breakfast were excellent. Thank you.

, August 2010: I would recommend a university stay to anyone, especially anyone from overseas. It's a great way to experience a university town such as Cambridge. The location was perfect. And the staff were great.

, August 2010: A lovely big historical room overlooking the green. I will come back and stay again.

, August 2010: We really enjoyed our stay. Great location in the heart of the city too! We'll be back!

, August 2010: Great attention to detail by Tracy Pelekanou at University Rooms. Would return for a longer stay sometime in the future. Great experience.

, August 2010: I like the place so much : ) Nice and not expensive

, August 2010: Staying at the university was a great alternative to hotels, I will definitely book again and recommend family and friends to do the same. Thank you.

, August 2010: We had a fabulous stay in Cambridge and were thrilled with the accommodation and the service at St Catherine's college. It's location was perfect and we were amazed with how quiet the accommodation was considering there were summer students there as well as the tourists on the streets. St Cat's was a wonderful oasis. The instructions for the drying of laundry needed to be clearer - having more laundry facilities available in the evening (4 washers and dryers were designated for the college staff alone) - was the only issue we had. Thank you for everything.

, August 2010: Too short a stay to be able to comment too much but it's a good experience overall. Very friendly portering service.

, August 2010: My room was was comfortable with plenty of room. Plenty of options for breakfaqst including fresh fruit. The staff were very helpful and friendly. my only suggestion is for the water pressure in the shower could be improved otherwise it was excellent.

, August 2010: I had an excellent stay, thank you.

, August 2010: All members of St Catharine's were extremely efficient, helpful and friendly contributing to make our vistit to Cambridge most enjoyable. Please forward our "thank you very much" to the college officials of St Catharine's.

, August 2010: Many thanks to the staff for being so helpful, friendly and kind. A very good breakfast with plenty of choice for vegetarians every morning. I would definitely stay at the college again in future.

, August 2010: We had an excellent stay at St. Catharine's College in Cambridge. A very good value for the money!

, August 2010: We knew that we were not checking into...say, Hilton! We got what we wanted: living in a College, in a room used by the students, eat in the cafeteria and savour the whole experience. It was great. One or two suggestions: A box of tissues in the room might be helpful. A phone might be useful. Great, keep it up. I certainly want to come back. K A Chacko

, August 2010: chambre spacieuse, confortable, claire. petit-déjeûner abondant et varié. "aubade" inoubliable... merci.

, July 2010: Very enjoyable stay - lovely room and very hearty breakfasts. Thank you to all your staff who were superb. We would love the opportunity to visit St Catharine's College in the future, should rooms be available.

, July 2010: It was a delightful experience, and I will book rooms via your organization again the next time I need to travel to Cambridge. Additionally, I will recommend your service unhestitatingly to all who ask!

, July 2010: The time to leave the room (10 am) is too early.

, July 2010: Friendly porters. Good directions on website and from the porters. Good sized room with comfy beds. Pleasant surprize to receive a St Catherines College 'vanity bag' with showergel and little towel! Very good locality and overall beautiful college. Would def. recommend for short stay.

, July 2010: Had a really lovely night at the college. Would definitely come back/recommend.

, July 2010: Really good experience - beautiful surroundings, an atmospheric wood-panelled room (though noisy as on main road). Toilet and shower room needed a bit of attention (poor students!), but a superb base for seeing the town. Really helpful young man in the porter's lodge.

, July 2010: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were most helpful and the environment wonderful.

, July 2010: St Catharine's college is in a brilliant location for all the sights, the beds were comfy and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic, with lots a choice, all of which was very yummy. The porter was very helpful and friendly and the college itself was beautiful. The only tiny fault I can think of was the noise, we had a window over looking the road (and corpus christi college which was also magnificant) so at night it was very noisy with people on their way back from their night out. My boyfriend didnt have trouble sleeping at all but I hardly got any sleep, so make of that what you will! Despite this small problem, I would absolutely stay at St Cats again, just maybe with some ear plugs :) big thumbs up from us.

, July 2010: A most enjoyable stay. The college grounds and gardens were of a particularly pleasing standard - a place for quiet meditation. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cafeteria facilities much appreciated St. Catharines is extremely well placed for so much that Cambridge has to offer. We hope to come again.

, July 2010: Lovely quiet double room with full bathroom - a luxury in terms of most college accom! Great location right in the centre of town with a generous breakfast buffet in the mornings. Highly recommended, especially in comparison with the tired, further out BnB rooms you usually find in Cambridge for this price.

, July 2010: The overall experience was just average because there was a lot of noise during the night as people came back late from events. The room was excellent as was pretty much everything else about the stay.

, July 2010: It was quite warm in Cambridge on our visit. We were grateful we could open the window, but it looked out on the public street....a loud street. We would recommend you to anyone coming to Cambridge, but we would not recommend a street room.

, July 2010: Everything is excellent. Thank you very much

, July 2010: the porter was very nice and helpful. much appreciate his help during the stay.

, July 2010: I very much enjoyed my stay even though it was rather noisy which was only to be expected the night before graduation. Think I was noisy then too! It was of extra interest to me as my father was a Catz student in 1938 and then 1946 and 1947. I have recommended this service to others and will use it again.

, July 2010: Attractive environment, excellent location, courteous service. En suite room basic but entirely adequate for brief stay.

, July 2010: very good room with a wonderful view on the court!

, July 2010: It was a pleasant experience to be a 'student' at Cambridge for a few days. The room was very nice and inviting for reading and studying, would have loved to stay a bit longer! The water was a bit strange, not really cold and not always clear. From my room I heard an almost continuous humming sound, the airshaft perhaps. Next time I'd request another part of the college. It was a very nice experience, which I would repeat again.

, July 2010: Better than we expected!

, July 2010: Helpful staff, great room, good breakfast. Only minor quibbles - breakfast a bit confusing at first (in two places, and the beautiful-but-slow toasters we're scrunching up the queue) and I like the 'towel in the sink' thing for clean towels. Would come again!

, July 2010: This is the second year I have stayed here and this time I introduced a friend to St. Catharine's College. Again I found the whole experience excellent and would highly recommend it.

, July 2010: shower was abit cold, but overall a fantastic place to stay in cambridge

, July 2010: Very nice college (St. Catharines) I booked en-suite and the room was really big with a study and a bedroom. Enjoyed it very much. Would go again.

, July 2010: I didn't have breakfast in College so can't comment on that aspect, but everything else was excellent. Thank you very much.

, July 2010: A most enjoyable stay in the centre of the City.

, July 2010: a very comfortable room. Perhaps the website could indicate whether there are en suite facilities. Our room did not have them, bu the room itself was excellent.

, July 2010: Very well-appointed room, beautiful setting. Minor points: kettle in room not working; no one serving breakfast so served myself - also I think the standard of the catering was a little higher at Christs's where we stayed the previous night. But still a very enjoyable experience!

, July 2010: We had a lovely stay at St Catharine's which has a fab location in the centre of Cambridge. We would definitely stay again.

, July 2010: I have a lot of experience using Uni accommodation and found St Catherine's to be excellent - thank you very much

, July 2010: Staying in Cambridge during 4 nights (5th to 9Th of July) for research matters, I appreciated a lot the web connection an the large desk in the room.

, July 2010: Great location and good facilities. Breakfast excellent and good internet connection in room. Very glad I stayed in college.

, July 2010: Room was great, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was impressive; they had the usual English breakfast plus continental breakfast options (yogurt, cereals, etc.)

, July 2010: A great discovery right in the centre of the Cambridge Colleges. Excellent accommodation which although basic was very clean and comfortable. Even a full breakfast is included. I will stay again and highly recommend.

, May 2010: Very easy to use booking system. Everyone at St Catharine's was very helpful. It was a lovely stay. Very good rooms.

, April 2010: I thank you for everything. I spent a wonderful time at St. Catharine's College. I love Cambridge very much.I think that it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. But in spring, it is really magnificent. This was my third visit there. I was delighted to stay at St. Catharine's College; all the staff was so nice and helpful. I shall strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Cambridge. Yours truly, Carmen-Rodica Dobre

, April 2010: Was wonderful to be in such a central location and within walking distance of the library and restaurant facilities. I will highly recommend the accommodation at St Catherine's to anyone travelling to Cambridge. Much appreciated.

, April 2010: Apart from a minor electrical problem (which I reported and resulted in a replacement kettle) my stay represented very good value for money. I noticed a big improvement in the internet connection since my previous stay - this time it worked immediately without reconfiguring. I have recommended the College to others and would definitely return. Thank you.

, April 2010: I enjoyed my stay and the porters were extremely friendly. The room was clean and nice towels and soaps etc avialible. A bit on the spartan side but vry good value and such a rlief not to be in a B and BPity i didn't know about being able to book at the University during off term times as I certainoy would have done it sooner.

, March 2010: We had a great stay and were particularly impressed by the welcome we got from Dennis the Porter. Though he probably deals with so many people he was very friendly, helpful and made us feel very special. That personal touch is treasured by us and hopefully recognized by the College.

, March 2010: We arrived after a lengthy flight and were speedily met by the duty porter. We were very happy with the room standard and comfort, breakfast was heart and well prepared and frankly it is difficult to find anything to complain about. Will definately book rooms again when visitting Cambridge.

, March 2010: My second stay with you in Cambridge. It was a good experience. The college staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was more than adequate, the breakfast excellent and we enjoyed a nice drink in the college bar before the grads descended for their disco after a formal dinner. Thanks to all concerned.

, March 2010: St. Catharine's was fantastic! The proters were delightful and the room was lovely. It is an excellent place to stay in Cambridge and I certainly plan on staying there again.

, March 2010: Something a little different to a normal hotel offering and very good value in comparison. Spacious room in a great location my only real reservation was the lack on en-suite facilities. On arrival, I also had to wait a long time to check-in as the Night Porter seemed to be working elsewhere.

, March 2010: Have recommended booking rooms at Cambridge colleges to friends. Website is very userfriendly. Stay at St Catherine's of a high quality and loved being in the centre of Cambridge.

, March 2010: Extremely pleasant stay, ideal surroundings for the short work trip I was on at the time. Would definitely use again in the future if need arises.

, March 2010: My entire party raved on and on about St. Catharine's College. We're hoping to come back again in the Fall. Thank you!

, February 2010: Very good accommodation and excellent room service. Thank you.

, February 2010: I was greatly satisfied with the accommodation. I'm going to stay here when I visit Cambridge again.

, February 2010: My daughter's room looked up Kings Parade towards my old college - One of the most iconic views of Cambridge. Marvellous

, February 2010: I had a nice trip in Cambridge and enjoyed my staying in such a nice, peaceful and convenient Cambirdge room.

, February 2010: A great place right in the center of a fantastic town with a pleasant historical atmosphere. We would like to come back one day. Petra and Friedrich from Weiden, Germany

, February 2010: My room was much more comfortable and spacious than expected and the staff very helpful - plus your location is so central. I would definitely reccommend you to my friends!

, February 2010: I stayed with my partner in St. Catherin's in September '09 and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cambridge. It was so convenient to the centre of the city, everything was within walking distance. I visited for research, but spent two days taking in the city and it was the perfect location for this. If you are looking for plush accommodation, then I wouldn't advise you to stay here, but everything is clean, neat and comfortable, including the beds which were good. The shower was powerful and the breakfast in the main hall was really good, with a super selection. The staff at the gate house were very helpfull and there is a freephone in the reception to call a local taxi service. The internet in the bedrooms (if you have your own laptop) is very speedy. Overall, if I was to return to Cambridge, I would definitely consider staying here again

, February 2010: highly recommendable accommodation, we will come back

, February 2010: I enjoyed the old-fashioned charme of both room and college very much. It was quite different from the standard hotel rooms that look the same everywhere in the world. I liked that. Thanks for the nice experience!

, February 2010: I didnt try the breakfast but am sure it would have been good. Overall very very good, having internet was great and students were able to help me find my room.

, February 2010: it was a perfect place to stay to experience the way of life in Cambridge. My daughter and I had a very enjoyable few days stay.

, September 2009: A lovely modern ensuite room. Sumptuous breakfasts! I didn't know that there would be internet access or would have brought my laptop. However, there is a good computer room available to guests. Staff are very helpful and the ambience is delightful.

, September 2009: overall very good - room was pleasant, comfortable, clean and in a very convenient central location. College was very pretty and peaceful.

, September 2009: Great experience for visitors. We had a lovely clean and comfortable room with en suite at St Catharine's. The college was very centrally located however more specific details on how to find the college would have been an advantage particularly when driving into Cambridge.

, September 2009: Thank you, we really enjoyed our visit to Cambridge, in particular the central position of St Catharines.

, September 2009: Very enjoyable stay in the centre of Cambridge. Excellent facilities for the price

, September 2009: On behalf of the whole group, we would like to thank you for a really lovely stay. Everything was perfect for our stay and we would definately book rooms with you again.

, September 2009: We had a lovely day in Cambridge and would definitely book Cambridge Rooms again. We would love to comment that the porters at the College were very helpful to us.

, September 2009: We were favorably surprised by the standards at St. Catharine's College. The room and the bathroom were both spacious and the bath was even equipped with a bathtub. Everything was very clean and fresh towels were provided regularly. The breakfast was of an excellent standard with a good selection of fruits and cereals. We definitively will return to St. Catharine which is very well situated in the middle of Cambridge. Top marks.

, September 2009: Thank you. Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Wonderful setting & so central. All staff very helpful. Would stay again & definitely recommend to others.

, August 2009: A wonderful chance to catch up with my son and grand daughter (Clare College), and Cats was just the ticket. Nice big room and beautiful courtyard. Well done!

, August 2009: We had a lovely time, We hope to return again soon. Thank you,

, August 2009: Lovely clean airy en-suite double room. University named toilet bag and toiletries for guests a lovely touch and keepsake. Having tea and coffee making facilities added bonus. Staff friendly and helpful.

, August 2009: Staff at St Catharine's were very friendly and welcoming

, August 2009: All very good and efficient. Good room, excellent service and an amazing town!

, August 2009: I would rate the breakfast as Good. The porters were particularly helpful. Overall as good as a quality hotel, with more character and ideally situated for sight-seeing.

, August 2009: Staff were most helpful. It is a really beautiful place and we really enjoyed our stay. The only drawback was the fact that we had no en suite but this was made up for by the pleasure of staying in such a quiet, peaceful and historic setting. We look forward to coming back in the near future!

, August 2009: Highly enjoyable and excellent experience I will certainly want to repeat. Thank you very much.

, July 2009: Room excellent with high standard of cleanliness and facilities. Staff contact friendly and helpful. Catering facilities surpassed expectation. Second year visit - will definitely stay in the future as very central to collleges, river , restaurants and shopping.

, July 2009: Overall, an excellent experience

, July 2009: A great experience and central location. Excelent breakfast and very good value. A superb opportunity to stay in the heart of Cambridge. Room was very hot and did overlook a busy road.

, July 2009: St. Catherine's was a delight. It was near the center of town and an easy walk to the University Library where I was doing research. I would absolutely stay there again.

, July 2009: Would highly recommend booking the university rooms in cambridge.

, July 2009: All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was great value for the money and could not have been more convenient. I would do it again!

, July 2009: A very pleasant, restful and civilized stay. Staff/students most courteous and friendly, and accommodation extremely adequate. My only cavil is lack of long mirror in bedroom - useful if attending functions/conferences etc!

, July 2009: My stay in St Catharine's College was marvellous in all the aspects. To lodge at a historical building, cradle of to know, it is a wonderful experience. For a practical traveler it has all the facilities that you can need and the location is ideal. I am grateful for the received treatment.

, July 2009: i thought the experience of university rooms was excellent and felt more enjoyable than previous stays in more expensive hotels. would hope to do a do again .best wishes

, July 2009: The two men on the reception were very good. They were smilling and very helpful!

, July 2009: Bedroom and en-suite were excellent and the porter who received us on Friday night was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again on another trip to Cambridge and will be recommending the college to friends. Thanks very much!

, July 2009: All commensurate with the value for money. nice welcome at the front desk , very good breakfast , I enjoyed the porridge which I used to have as a little girl. Hopefully we could come back next year for a longer period.

, July 2009: We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you!

, July 2009: We had a very enjoyable stay at St Catharine's College! Thank you very much! We hope to be back soon!

, July 2009: We were thrilled with our accommodation, and the friendly welcome. Would recommend it to our friends.

, July 2009: The student in the porter's lodge was definitely deserving of 'excellent' - answered all questions and was very helpful indeed.

, July 2009: What a great place to stay - I was here for 3 nights. One of the smaller central colleges which is a plus for me, but could hardly be better positioned. Kings is next door and some of the big name colleges are near by. Also the city centre shops, other attractions and nice restaurants are very close. I was in the Gostlin building ( single en suite room) on the 3rd floor with with a nice part view of the Main Court (quadrangle). Very efficient lift. I would say that I am quite fussy and used to 4/5* hotels but I was very happy in my room. As the College sites says this is not a 4* hotel but the rooms are comfortable, clean, functional and serviced daily etc and I could have happily stayed there for longer. The rooms are all close to the entrance and also the dining hall. What a great breakfast - easily equal to a good hotel but in the wonderful surroundings and history of a Cambridge College. Not waitress service and not individual tables which you wouldn't and don't expect but very efficient and you will not get any better fried bread anywhere. If required you can get lunch and dinner but in restricted time slots - I didn't. There is also a bar. What I particularly liked was the 9/10 seats around the Main Court so after breakfast or in the evening you could relax here and admire the views - not many Cambridge colleges in my limited experience and I may be wrong, have such seats. The porters at the Lodge are very helpful and will store luggage for you if you want to wander around the city after the 10am check out time I admit I haven't stayed at another Cambridge college but if you want a sense of history and culture and accept that this is a working college and not a 4* hotel then this is a great place to stay for a few days. All say 4* hotels are much the same but where else do you get an ambience, charcter and history like this. I would love to come back next year.

, July 2009: I was very sad to leave St. Catherine's, not simply because it was it was so conveniently located near the archive where I am conducting research. But because the accommodations were stupendous and quiet, the staff at the Porter's Lodge was invariably friendly, and the student workers were extremely kind to a befuddled foreigner. I've nothing but good to say about the experience.

, July 2009: Excellent value for money!

, July 2009: Very happy with my stay. The room was basic but very clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent. The porters were very friendly and helpful. Will certainly book here again in the future.

, July 2009: Accommodation with character, clean and well maintained & helpful and friendly staff.

, July 2009: The room itself although basic was clean and of a good standard the only improvement we could suggest was the provision of a fan as the room was extremely warm even with the window open!! Otherwise the breakfast facilities were excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, the location is ideal and overall we had a lovely time!

, July 2009: Had a wonderful time. College staff so helpful. Thank you for taking note of our wishes as we had no steps to climb and had the best of both worlds with modern room facilities just seconds away from the old buildings and lovely gardens. Plan to come again and maybe do some other towns.

, July 2009: particularly helpful and friendly porters at this college.

, July 2009: Very central, convenient, pleasant stay

, April 2009: We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at St Catharine's, right in the heart of Cambridge and the University.

, April 2009: Excellent location and facilities.

, April 2009: Of the smaller cities Cambridge certainly belongs worldwide to the most beautiful ones. Our stay was wonderful. The college is so central, you can´t find anything more central. The double-room was excellent and it was a relief to NOT have a TV! Although it is a college the room was always cleaned. We didn´t expect that kind of hotel-service and were pleasently suprprised. Also very nice: The friendly staff at the porters´ lodge. A clear recomendation!

, April 2009: Perfect location

, March 2009: Had a lovely stay, thank you. Felt like a true Cambridge experience!

, March 2009: The only improvement I would suggest is that the porters could be more helpful about directions to the room - some rooms are not so obvious to find just from the number if you don't have any guide. Other than that it was all very good, and the catering team were very welcoming at breakfast.

, December 2008: Our stay was very enjoyable, the room was comfortable and in a good location in St Catherine's College. The Porters friendly and helpful. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

, December 2008: The College staff could not be friendlier or more helpful; I have used this service before and will no doubt do so again.

, October 2008: We had a wonderful experience at St. Catharine's College and would readily stay there again. The porters were very helpful and we felt very comfortable there. The location was fabulous and the overall experience was great.

, October 2008: I only wish that these rooms were available all year round!

, October 2008: It was a very fantastic experience to stay in one of these historical colleges. The location can't be any better. You can go to anywhere from the college by buses city3 or something. I stayed in one of single standard room. even though there is no build in toilet, there is a built-in basin to do some general washing. Oh, and an important thing to mention is, there is free internet in the college which saved me lots of hassle to find internet in cambridge city. There is also free cab booking phone if you need a taxi. so I would seriously recommend people to stay if you visit cambridge. :-)

, September 2008: Very enjoyable stay in a prestigeous and historic college. The room is adequate for students' needs... no television though... but there was an internet connection available. Excellent value for money!

, September 2008: the porter was friendly and helpful. The room was surprisingly spacious (lucky undergraduates!) and very clean.

, September 2008: I've stayed here several times, both as a summer school student and as a visiting guest, and have always found the accommodations very comfortable and the service superb. Perhaps I'm not a good respondent because I've become totally biased in favor of St. Cat's. I'd rather stay here than anywhere else in Cambridge!

, September 2008: This was excellent value for money - the breakfast was delicious, and the room was absolutely gorgeous. We were extremely glad that we had decided to book and pay the 75.00, as the other rooms we had considered (in the 65.00 range) were not near the same standard. The location was also fantastic, and the porter and kitchen staff were extremely courteous and hospitable. Thanks so much!

, September 2008: Joan and I very much enjoyed our stay at St Catherine's. After 10 days at Rosebery Hall in London, our room seemed most luxurious, the beds were comfortable and we could turn around in the bathroom. We were fascinated by the students and staff who shared the dining room with us. (and we did have some lunches and some dinners there) All the staff we had any dealings with were friendly and helpful, especially the ones at the front desk. We will definitely tell others about our wonderful stay at St "Catz" - Thanks to them all Arlene B

, September 2008: We were pleased to see that the cooked breakfast included fried bread! All in all, an excellent experience and I would always recommend your organisation to others.

, September 2008: all of us were very pleased Moreover the location of your college is ideal

, September 2008: If we come back to Cambridge, we'll try to come back to St Catherine's College if it's possible. It was great. The only point we could ask for, is a plug adaptater (we're french). We bought one now, but it could perhaps be nice for some other people. (Maybe St Catherine's College had some, but we didn't ask them before we bought ours... There was none in the room).

, September 2008: It felt a priviledge to be staying in such surroundings, perhaps in part because the weather was so splendid!

, September 2008: Really excellent and so central. The staff were very very helpful and friendly and certainly would recommend it to anyone.

, September 2008: Rooms were very spacious and was a very nice touch that toiletries were provided. Had a very good experience here, porters extremley helpful. Would definately use the site again and stay at st Catharines again.

, September 2008: Had a great time in Cambridge and I'll be back! Thanks so much.

, September 2008: We would love to stay there again in a heartbeat! Wonderful facilities. Breakfast was excellent!

, September 2008: The room was very clean and much pleasanter than many lower to meduim range hotel rooms. There was some noise at night, particularly early morning rubbish cleaning on a Friday morning. However given the extremely convenient central location this was well worth while putting up with. What I would like to say emphatically was that my wife and I were exceptionally impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of all the college staff we encountered. We were in Cambridge for our son's wedding in Queens' College next door to St Catharine's and there were inevitably some last minute preoccupations, not least over the difficulty in parking cars used for ferrying things to do with the wedding. The Cleaning Supervisior, Dee, happened to visit the room, checking it, and went out of her way to help us resolve the problems, in particular liasing with Queens. We also learnt that the College had picked up the fact before we arrived that I have a problem with mobility and took the trouble of rearranging our room to minimise the need to use stairs. We greatly appreciate this thoughtfulness.

, September 2008: The entire family enjoyed the stay. I shall write directly to Catz to relay the same comments.

, September 2008: It's great to be able to experience staying in such beautiful historic surroundings. Staff were efficient and helpful. When I stay again I think I will request a room away from the street, as it did get a bit noisy. Breakfast was delicious, although it would have been good to have an egg other that a fried one! I have already recommended this first rate experience to others.

, September 2008: Porter was very helpful - everything was very clean. Great central location for Cambridge and a wonderful experience to stay in the college. Definitely recommend it! Only fault was the kettle didn't seem to work in my room and I don't think it was user error.

, September 2008: Great location within walking distance of everything with very friendly and helpfull staff. Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends

, September 2008: I had a very nice and pleasant staying here in St. Catherine's College. Especially, the staffs were all very warm and nice to me. Thanks a lot!

, September 2008: Good historic location, within easy reach of all facilities. We had a most enjoyable stay in your lovely surroundings

, September 2008: The people who responded to my initial request for information were quite helpful. They subsequently guided me in making my reservation and answered my questions on how to reach the college. Being from another country, I needed plenty of help and certainly got it from them. The porters at St. Catherine's College were warm, friendly and quite helpful. Staying at the college was a rewarding experience.

, September 2008: We look forward to staying with you again!!!!! Thank you for the opportunity and sharing such a lovely location.

, September 2008: I had a wonderful time and a true college like experience. I will definitely be back to experience more of Cambridge ...

, September 2008: Excellent location.

, September 2008: All was surprisingly slick, thank you!

, September 2008: The room was pretty much what I had expected for student accomodation and I seemed to get upgraded to an en-suite which was nice. The college staff were excellent in helping me out and the breakfast was, as others have said really very good. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Catz to anyone looking for an economic place to stay in central Cambridge with the added bonus of staying in one of the university's historic colleges. The on-line booking couldn't have been easier either.

, September 2008: I enjoyed my stay at St Catherine's College and have already recommended it to friends. I only wish my own rooms at college had been half as comfortable!

, September 2008: Had a wonderful stay at St Catharines and would thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone wishing to see the real cambridge ... certainly preferred it to the Best Western!

, September 2008: I really enjoyed staying here. The central location was important to me. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout, but particularly when I arrived - which was great as I was very tired and stressed! A good idea to provide B&B here!

, September 2008: My son and I enjoyed our weekend in Cambridge very much. We found it very useful to be staying in a college in the city centre.

, September 2008: Excellent! Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and good facilities. Good value for money for staying in the city centre at a peak time of year. Would heartily recommend it and will almost certainly be back to visit again. Thanks to all at St Caths!

, September 2008: Very happy with the whole experience. Would definitley book through Historic Britain again and would happily stay at St. Catharines college in Cambridge again.

, August 2008: My friends and I were very impressed with the level of accommodation and would certainly recommend it to other people. Lucky students!!

, August 2008: All staff wre extemely helpful and this made such a difference to a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

, August 2008: The accommodation provided the foundation for a most enjoyable holiday

, August 2008: Very good accomodation for an university / students accomodation. The price in Cambridge (of course) considerably higher than in my other stay at Exeter and parking in Cambridge is difficult, although the staff have been very helpful in this matter. So good marks and I was very staisfied.

, August 2008: Really enjoyed all aspects of visit and would happily recommend to friends. One small point - the shower head needs descaling!!

, August 2008: The room was spacious and bright and the view was good as you felt like you were really in Cambridge with the view of old buildings outside the windows. The beds were comfy and it was quiet at night ; I felt totally safe there as the room was on the 2nd floor and there was the porters lodge 24hrs.We used the college bar and the barman was accomodating and friendly. We found St Catz to be a great central location too , so we look around all the Colleges. My daughter is hoping to apply for 2009 entry and has fell in love with the place and we were impressed by all the green space , gardens and colleges. Thanks for a great stay: I will be back !

, August 2008: Basic, no-nonsense, comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was superb, the porters jolly and the room clean. Location couldn't be more central, and high-speed Internet access thrown in for free. Not for fans of 5-star hotel clones, but you can keep your trouser presses - I'll definitely be back.

, August 2008: Was very pleased to have such a nice room as my husband was staying with me for the first time. (I stay on my own for 2 or 3 nights most weeks.) The facilities are being improved all the time - we were given a new radio, mirror and bedside light while we were there. Staff very friendly and helpful. I do like the website but have had some difficulty changing a booking lately. However, I think recent changes to the site may enable me to book for several weeks together which will be good.

, August 2008: A very enjoyable stay - thank you very much!

, August 2008: enjoyed my stay, room was very clean and comfotable though it was noisy outside once I had found my way to the shower it was surprisingly good and breakfast was great!

, August 2008: I cannot remember the room number but found the cleanliness and size of the room, site within the town and overall experience to be excellent. We would definitely book through University Rooms again if we stayed in Oxford or Cambridge.

, August 2008: My daughter and I had a lovely stay in St Katherines. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. We were very impressed and would certainly use this accomodation again if /when we return to Cambridge.

, July 2008: st catherine's college is beautiful and in an excellent location, next to the city centre and opposite some nice restaurants and pubs. if we were to come to cambridge again we will for sure choose to stay in a college.

, July 2008: Very comfortable stay. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay there again!

, July 2008: Great to have such a spacious and characterful room. Super breakfast and inspiring architecture. Some loud late night voices in the street and along the hall, but overall another good stay. Thank you.

, July 2008: We loved it a St Catharine's College! Thanks for the experience!

, July 2008: Very friendly service, excellent dealing with extra wishes (to have a room in Sherlock Court), clean bath, lovely scenery and calm and pleasant working atmosphere - beautiful court and a cosy room with a view. Highly recommendable accomodation.

, July 2008: Very positive experience. Shame about the noise from the street but not much you can do about that.

, July 2008: The location of the college is fantastic, just in the center of the town and the atmosphere in the courtiyard and dinning room was great, people from all over the world were living there and attending different courses. I will come back.

, July 2008: Very impressed with the standard of the room. it was extremely comfortable. The porter were helpfulness personified. Hope to go again. Have already recommended to several people.

, July 2008: The Porter was most helpful and also told me about a concert in the Chapel that I enjoyed

, July 2008: Breakfast was a bit early for a Sunday(!) so I missed it. Overall, bearing in mind it is student accommodation, I was happy with the room. It was a nice experience.

, July 2008: Room was better than expected. Only concern was the noise from the street- but I guess that is to be expected.

, July 2008: Ideal location for exploring the city. Catering excellent and very reasonable if you wish to use the lunch and dinner time catering option. Porters extremely helpful.

, July 2008: I stayed for one night with one of my friends in a very spacious double room with huge bay windows with window seats that held a lovely view of Trumpington St. The grounds are beautiful and the college is located at the centre of the city within walking distance of all other university buildings, the river and the train station (though it is probably better to take a bus from the city centre to the station). The staff was quite friendly and helpful and rooms and bathrooms were pretty clean. My only complaint is that the walls are thin and we could easily hear the occupants of the room next door. I would definitely stay in this College again, I felt that it truly embodied the essence of the city of Cambridge.

, July 2008: I booked this for three pairs of guests all of whom commented on how pleased they were with the accommodation. Thank you to Sue Musk for being helpful in answering queries, also.

, July 2008: Highly recommended. Had an ensuite room which, although pretty basic, was modern, clean and had a working broadband connection. The college itself is beautiful and handy for town. Would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend to friends.

, July 2008: Porters were very helpful with advice and maps. Great to be so central. Hope to return as we missed Kings College because there was so much to do.

, July 2008: I enjoyed the time very much. It was a great experience to stay in the centre of Cambridge within those ancient buildings

, July 2008: Not luxury but we were not expecting this. The central location was the attraction. The three staff members in the Porters' Lodge we encountered were a credit to the College in their attitude and friendliness.

, July 2008: Very well priced for the location and room. It would be nice if there was a hairdryer available. But it suited my purposes just fine and I would definitely book through this service again. :)

, July 2008: WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN THANK YOU TO ST. CATHERINES

, July 2008: Very comfortable, clean, sunny room. Great view of the quad; the loft space plus lower living area made working there very pleasant. Desk staff were very helpful. Will definitely stay at St. Catherine's again on my next visit.

, July 2008: It has been really a good experience staying inside a college. Felt the academic vibrance and the hostory of the University. It is far better than staying in a hotel if traveller wants to feel the pulse of the University.

, July 2008: Accommodation exactly as expected because my son was a Cambridge undergraduate. It is just wonderful to have accommodation without a TV in the room! Porter was very welcomimg and helpful. Will definitely come again.

, July 2008: Thank you to the college staff, especially the maintenance staff who kindly lent us a hammer to put a wheel back on a suitcase!

, July 2008: Stayed at St Catz and enjoyed the room and all aspects of the service.

, April 2008: splendid place and friendly staff. We will come back.

, April 2008: Overall a good experience; I'd certainly consider booking again. It's good St Catherine's College provide this accommodation for the 'smaller group'.

, April 2008: The people were very kin and the atmosphere was very pleasant

, April 2008: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My room was really clean and comfortable, in a great location and good surroundings.

, April 2008: We had a great time, Lovely place and perfect location!

, April 2008: I stayed at St. Cat's in December, and it was a very positive experience. The college was quiet but I felt secure as the porter's desk was near my room. The room was spacious and very clean, and the location was excellent--right in the centre of things within walking distance of everything. St. Cat's has a great deal of character as well--the room was 'all mod cons' but the setting was very gothic. Breakfast was standard but with a wide range of choices from hot to continental. Staff were extremely friendly and recognised me as I went in and out. I highly recommend St. Cat's for those staying in Cambridge over the university holidays.

, April 2008: A very pleasant experience, would use your facilities again and recommend it to others
